la-di-da (°2015, The Hague) is the architectural firm of Laura van Santen and Diederik de Koning. They try to be ecological in the most economical way possible to build. This fascination with “eco-brutalism” leads to practical but unusual solutions for small-scale residential projects. They try to understand the construction process from raw material to product. In co-operation they conduct material experiments with various workshops, and they develop new architectural products that find their application in cultural buildings. They share this knowledge with students at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague where both teach.
