The house with barn in the east of the Netherlands was built for a couple returning to their roots after having lived abroad. Both volumes are connected with a central core with installations and entrances, and can be divided using sliding doors. With its OSB walls and concrete floor finishing, the barn is made to be a little rougher in appearance than the house. Various types of spruce or pine wood are used in the house: the visible glulam structure, the radiata pine sheets, untreated Accoya window frames and a Platowood trellis on the facade for plants to grow on.
