For his family, Richard Leplastrier designed his own house in Lovett Bay, Australia. It consists of one main room with a separate kitchen an bath house. Due to its remoteness, the building materials had to be light weight. Noteworthy is the lack of glass in the building. You either close doors and shutters, or you are one with the surrounding landscape. Sleeping is done on the floor, which allows for a very flexible use of the main space. More than just a nice building, Leplastrier's designs invite users to live a particular life. A way of life that embraces discomfort as a step towards a better life.
